You don’t want to miss this conversation 🤩
I know it's only July 24 but it feels like the end of the year for me.
The past 6 months have been a whirlwind of book launches – for myself, and also for my authors.
I’m incredibly proud of the work we’ve done, and the time in which we accomplished it. I know that these books are not the end – they’re just the beginning. And I’m excited to see what’s next for all of us.
If you’ve been with me a while, you know that I like to pause my newsletter for summer. It’s my chance to pour back into myself, my family and my other passion projects, including my next book 😉
About a year ago I onboarded 3 would-be authors who, funny enough, all wanted to launch their book around April—the same month I would be launching my own book, which has been an almost decade-long endeavour. At the time, I didn’t know how I would pull it all off, but I said yes anyway, confident that I could figure it out and make it happen.
Now all four of us have successfully launched our books (one last author will be launching her book in the coming weeks). After months of giving every last scrap of ourselves to make these goals happen, our dreams are finally coming true.
This wouldn’t have been possible without team.
Thank you to Karlene, Taneet, Meera, Melanie, Rob and so many more for all your support with my book launch for Again, Only More Like You. On the client side, my authors and I have been supported by Taneet, Monica, Moriah, Dawn, Emma and Amy.
I hope you, too, will take time this summer to just BE. Life moves so quickly, as I was reminded at a funeral service last weekend. There will always be bills to pay, projects to complete, and yes, dreams to fulfill. But we won’t always have each other.
Cherish it. Cherish one another.
Love,
Cat xo
Lessons in Life, Business, and Storytelling
I don’t want to leave you completely empty-handed, so to keep you inspired, learning, refining your craft and moving toward your goals, even in a season of rest, I want to share my latest podcast interview, which might be my favourite.
John Jaramillo recently interviewed me for his podcast called The Book Leads, where he speaks with specialists and experts across various industries and from varied backgrounds to learn about the book that made an impact and left an impression on their work, life, and leadership.
In our chat, we talked about creative mindset, what I learned from my immigrant parents about leadership, the pain that drives us to "make it happen," the books and movies that inspire, the creative geniuses who guide, the stories that define us and the stories that we're rewriting, and ultimately, what makes a life worth living.
As John sums up, “The main question underlying my conversation with Cat is, How much attention are you paying to your story – to tell it, to live it, to change it – in life?”
This convo will have you lit up and ready to drive that vision for your life. Turn up the volume and tune in here.
PS: While I’ll be scaling back on office hours over the summer, I am always just an email or DM message away. If you get the writing bug or finally have that giant aha moment that the time to finish your book is now, reach out and let me know. I’d be happy to support you, any way I can.
